Active Body in Balance

The Challenge

Active Body in Balance(ABB) is a new personal training service which needed to establish their entry into the personal training market. ABB specialise in improving physical performance by dealing with movement and alignment issues within the body using a range of techniques.

The Solution

The client wanted to focus on one key excercise which illustrates their approach to exercise and mobility - the "Turkish Get Up".  Using this as a starting point the illustration colours and text were all pulled together to give a fresh and healthy look to the logo and business card.

The Challenge

Australian Bearings were about to launch their new automotive bearings range onto the market. They needed a catalogue that would make an impact beyond their competitors.

The Solution

The first step was to commission a photographer to create striking product imagery which could be used to convey the quality of the products and to set AB Auto apart from their competition by featuring the products this way. The data heavy catalogue was set out to make the complex information as accessible as possible.  The design of the brochure was then applied to event signage.

NENHN Annual Report

NENHN Annual Report

nenhn-main

The Challenge

The North East Neighbourhood House Network (NENHN) were ready to publish their 2012 Annual Report but wanted to move away from the Word documents that they had produced in the past and present something fresh and professional. The report would be presented to all the active members of the Network and also to key supporters such as Counsellors and MP's.

The Solution

Using the main NENHN brand style as the cornerstone of the design we created a fresh and bright look which reflected the nature of the Neighbourhood houses. Making full use of the photo archive available and constructing strong and clear infographics, the stories of the network and the key financial infomation are clear to read and understand.  As part of the annual report the centre pages can be removed and used as a useful tool as it contains a network map, a full contact directory of the houses and a list of important dates throughout the year for the network.  The report was printed on a short run of only 100 copies on 100% recycled paper.

ProAct

ProAct

The Challenge

Pro-Act Business Accounting has been established for over 20 years and with new blood coming into the business they needed to update their identity to appeal to a new type of customer.  The existing customers needed to feel secure knowing that they were still part of the well established business they had grown to rely on.

The Solution

Using the colours and one graphical element, the arrow, from the previous logo, we were able to breath new life and strength into the brand. Using bold solid typography and giving the logo a stronger presence and a memorable identity. The stationery made use of the abbreviated version of the logo to keep things simple.

Andrea Henrickson

Andrea Henrickson

The Challenge

Andrea Henrickson is a relationship coach who specialises is working with individuals and teams to improve their performance at work and their relationships at home. Andrea came to cm design wanting to breathe new life into her business identity so that it reflected her own style and personality more...introducing a playful element to her business.

The Solution

The real turning point for Andrea's clients is that moment of realisation...when the penny drops and they can begin to put into practice what they have learned and discovered. This was the basis for the idea behind the logo, making the moment of realisation the focus for the business identity.

The logo and brand styling was rolled out through a full stationery set and a Powerpoint template.

Cambridge Weight Plan

Cambridge Weight Plan

The Challenge

Essendon Cambridge Weight Plan (CWP) Consultant, Mandy Smith, needed to develop her own range of support material for herself and her team of consultants.

The call to action had to be clear and direct but the potential client also needs to understand the key points of differentiation that CWP offers such as one on one consultancy, planning and support

The Solution

A pair of pull up banners allow the consulants to attract attention when at events and the flyers and business cards make sure than anyone interested in CWP doesn't go away empty handed. Using the styleguide and the supporting imagery means that the branding remains strong and clear.

Small Town

Small Town

small-town-main-new

The Challenge

Small Town is a music and events promoter with an emphasis on country music. We were asked to create a corporate identity for the company. The brief we were given was fairly open except for one thing: the logo had to include a horseshoe image in some way.

The challenge was to incorporate the horseshoe image without resorting to stereotypes, which would have given potential clients a narrow view of what this company does.

The Solution

We developed a stylised horseshoe image which has a modern feel without becoming cartoonish. We then used enlarged portions of the horseshoe in the background to turn the horseshoe into a road – in keeping with the touring nature of the musicians and events which Small Town promote.

In choosing a font, we looked for something modern but with a traditional twist, avoiding ‘wild west’ stereotypes while remaining connected to the country music theme.

Red Bird

Red Bird

red-bird-card-main

The Challenge

As a new business, Melbourne-based Feng Shui consultancy The Red Bird needed a corporate identity that would attract attention. They wanted to include some aspect of Feng Shui into the identity while sticking with a simple overall design.

The Solution

Memorability comes from the use of striking design, but that is not the only aspect of stationery that can make a difference. With The Red Bird we were able to do a number of things to increase the impact that their stationery made.

We developed a simple but strong logo incorporating the Feng Shui symbols of the phoenix and the colour red.  The only other colour we used was a muted grey, almost as a watermark on letterhead and envelopes.

For the business card, we chose a heavyweight stock, added rounded corners and gave the cards matt laminate finish. A ‘gloss spot UV’ was used for the dark red bird on the back of the card: this raised it from the surface adding texture and depth. The combined affect of all these features was a business card which feels more like a gift than something to be tucked into the back of a draw.
