The Challenge

Brimbank City Council wanted to improve community awareness of their nine
Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres. We were asked to design attractive artwork to fit a range of formats (banners, brochures and bags).

The challenge was to convey a lot of information--including a sense of their range of services and the contact details for all nine centres--in a small space. At the same time they wanted the artwork to remain bright and uncluttered.

The Solution

To show off the range of services at these centres, we used a range of photos overlaid with a grid pattern to provide a consistency to the design.

Subtle use of the colour scheme in the setting out of contact details allowed us keep the information clear and readable while avoiding any sense of ‘overcrowding’.

5,000 bags will be distributed during the 2011 Brimbank Festival, along with the Council’s new services booklet. The banners are displayed at each of the centres to provide continuity of identity and to promote activities across the range of centres.
