The ChallengeThe RMIT Applied Photography class of 2009 needed to advertise fundraising events aimed at other RMIT students--in a very competitive fundraising environment. They also needed to produce a catalogue for their end-of-year graduation exhibition, f32. The catalogue needed to profile each student and provide a sample of their work. It needed to do these things with class, but on a tight budget. The SolutionWe combined striking graphics and a sense of humour in the fundraiser advertising. This grabbed the attention of the campus to such an extent that the ‘Parmageddon Parma’ night was sold out in just three days. The catalogue put the emphasis on the photographs through the use of large colour images supported by smaller black and white profile images and light fonts. We worked closely with the students, their lecturers and the printers to coordinate colour management and proofing, ensuring that the end result was of a very high quality. |
