The Challenge

Kylie Grinham is an emerging Melbourne-based photographer. Our brief was to help her showcase her work and promote her latest collection of photographs, with the ultimate aim of raising Kylie’s profile.

Kylie’s photographs have a unique style and part of our challenge was to complement that style with the overall design of the website. As a photography site, it was also important that Kylie’s images could be browsed through quickly and easily.

The Solution

A clean, predominantly white colour scheme was chosen to frame the site. This seemed to work best as a support for Kylie’s most recent series of images. We used a Flash-based picture gallery which allows each individual image to be properly shown off in a slideshow format, while the entire collection is scrollable underneath.

Kylie’s website launch was promoted by the distribution of postcards to local cafes, bars and shops and via email contact with galleries and journalists. Her site subsequently attracted significant traffic and her images were featured in The Age newspaper and online art-zines.
